Subhash Ghai dismisses rumors of having signed Tiger Shroff for ‘Khalnayak’ remake




There is a strong buzz in the media about, veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai, keen on remaking his Sanjay Dutt-starrer movie ‘Khalnayak’. The movie, which released in 1993, proved to be a huge blockbuster at the box-office, mainly thanks to the controversies surrounding its lead actor Sanjay Dutt. And now, fresh reports have it that, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has managed to acquire the remake rights of the movie and is planning to cast his favorite actor Ranveer Singh in the title role.

However, according to the original producer Subhash Ghai, the rights of this blockbuster still remain with him. The ‘Ram Lakhan’ director has also rubbished the recent rumors of having signed his protégé Jackie Shroff’s son Tiger Shroff for essaying the male lead in the remake. Ghai mentions that, the script for the remake version is still under process of completion and is yet to be locked.

‘Khalnayak’ narrated the story of a cat and mouse game between dreaded terrorist Ballu Balram (Sanjay Dutt) and police officer Ram (Jackie Shroff) who is also Ballu’s childhood friend.
