Shruti Haasan, the actress on the move who has been starring in Sabaash Naidu and S3, is said to be upset with Rakul Preet Singh, her contemporary in Tamil and Telugu films, for seizing up an opportunity from her to pair up opposite Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming Telugu film which would be a sequel to the super-hit Gabbar Singh.
Shruti was the natural choice as heroine for the planned sequel to Gabbar Singh and it turns out that she had said ‘yes’ to the film’s crew to star in it. For some reasons, the shoot of the film was delayed from its originally scheduled dates and when the crew approached Shruti Haasan for her call-sheet for the revised schedule, Shruti was hesitant in adjusting her pre-committed call-sheet diary.
It was at that time that Rakul Preet said that she was willing to take up an offer at any time to star opposite a leading hero like Pawan Kalyan. This made the film’s crew approach Rakul Preet to essay the heroine’s role in the sequel to which she agreed to at once, thereby upsetting Shruti Haasan who was only thinking about altering her call-sheet scheduled and hadn’t refused to star in the sequel.
It may be noted that Rakul also landed up producer-director A.R. Murugadoss’ upcoming Tamil-Telugu venture starring Mahesh Bahu in the lead. She got the offer soon after controversy erupted over Bollywood’s Parineeti Chopra demanding more money from the film’s crew!
