Speaking to newsmen recently, Samuthirakani expressed happiness at the film’s success and also revealed the ‘fan’ side of him.
“I have been an ardent fan of ‘Thalaivar’ Rajini for the past many years. I’m going to say something which I wanted to say during the audio-launch of Vishal’s Naan Sigappu Manithan but decided it wasn’t the right venue to do so. I was in school when Rajini’s Naan Sigappu Manithan released. In those days, I had very little money with me and my parents never gave me money to go and watch a film in a theatre.
“I took up the job of selling murukku (snacks) and would go around the seats in the theatre where the film was screened in my village. I would stay in the theatre for the whole day and watched all the 64 shows of the film during its 16-day run in our village I’m a mad fan of Rajini,” concludes Samuthirakani.
