Sources close to director Prabhu Solomon say that he might shoot his upcoming Kumki sequel in Thailand, which is full of its famed white elephants.
Kumki launched Vikram Prabhu, son of actor Prabhu and grand of the late and legendary Sivaji Ganesan, in Kollywood as a hero opposite newbie Lakshmi Menon (whose Sundarapandian released earlier). The film, a romantic entertainer, was a super-duper hit when it release in theatres in December, 2012. D. Imman’s music and songs played a huge role in the film’s success.
Solomon went on record recently that he would be making a sequel to Kumki. Sources close to him say that he would start work on the sequel after he wraps up his present project Thodari which has national award-winning actor Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh in the lead. Vikram Prabhu would play the lead role in the sequel but the heroine and other technicians haven’t yet been finalized.
While Kumki was shot mostly in Kerala, this time Solomon and crew is likely to travel to Thailand (which has plenty of white elephants) to shoot the film.
