Film on ‘Whatsapp’ application has been titled as Pagiri

Director-cum-producer Isakki Karvannan’s upcoming film Pagiri is all about the ills and goods caused by the ‘Whatsapp’ application widely used on smart-phones these days.
Despite possessing no experience of working under anyone as assistant director, Isakki has turned director with Pagiri. He justifies his title saying “Pagiri refers to one who shares things; don’t we share many things in Whatsapp application? That was why I titled the film as Pagiri,” he says.
“Each individual in society has his/her own ambitions, dreams, expectations, likes and likes while mingling with other members of the society. However, fate has very different future for them. Pagiri speaks about these uncertainties of life,” he adds.
“For some unknown reasons, people have become so selfish in all their activities in recent years. Even falling in love is a kind of selfish act,” says Karvannan who has directed a few directors such as Ravi Mariah, A. Venkatesh, T.P. Gajendran, Marimuthu and Balasekaran as they have essayed significant roles in the film.
