It is rumoured that Trisha, who is in her mid-thirties but still keeps herself busy in Tamil films with a project or two, might get to reprise national award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut’s role in the Tamil remake of the Bollywood super-hit film Queen.
30-year old Kangana, who starred opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi in her only Tamil film Dhaam Dhoom many years back, has won three national awards including national award for best actress for ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ as well as the national award for ‘best supporting actress’ for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion.
Script of Queen is about a bride who is told by her bride-groom just two days before the marriage that he wasn’t in favour of the marriage. Faced with a huge crisis, the decision taken by the bride after her ‘rejection’ by the groom forms the crux of the story. As such, the film’s Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada remake rights have been acquired by actor-producer-director Thiyagarajan.
Initially, it was reported that Nayantara might essay the protagonist’s role essayed with aplomb by Kangana in the original. In fact, it was also said some time back that Kangana herself would be starring in the Tamil remake (opposite Prashanth). It is now reported from reliable sources that Trisha is in talks to play eth lead role in the Tamil version. After Trisha says ‘yes’ to the project, it would formally be announced to the press.
