Balloon Tamil movie Music Review

Yuvan Shankar Raja has been on the dominating spree with back to back albums releases in a short span of time. Following the grand success of ‘Semma Bodha Aagathey’, he has his new album ‘Balloon’ released now. The film features Jai, Anjali and Janani Iyer in lead roles, directed by newcomer Sinish. The film is a supernatural thriller, which has 5 songs including couple of signature theme songs and a promotional number.

Vaanam Dhaane
Singers: Rizwan
Lyrics: Arunraja Kamaraj

Yuvan Shankar Raja picks up 2/4 March rhythmic pattern for this song with a slow tempo. Yet more amazing thing is that the ‘March’ rhythm definitely comes with percussions, but over here is replaced by Accordion. The singer on track – Rizwan gives a clear rendition that makes it more decorous in presentation. Usually, Arunraja Kamaraj would be involved in the songs that are massy, but here has a different shade as lyricist in him expressed.

Mazhai Megam
Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja and Priya Jerson
Lyrics: Arunraja Kamaraj

This song was released as the single track before few days. It’s an usual song pattern from Yuvan Shankar Raja, where we get to fall in love with for the first time we hear it. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been someone who can reflect the soul when it comes intonating with a love track. Over here, he makes it much more appealing alongside Priya Jerson. Normally, what happens with preludes and interludes in a romantic song is the inclusion of fortepianos, strings or maybe flutes. But over here, we get to see it a difference for its treated with distorted guitars in milder manner.

Uyirile Uyirile
Singers: Vijay Yesudas and Priyanka
Lyrics: Arunraja Kamaraj

Much alike the previous number, the lyrical lines by Arunraja Kamaraj gives an impressive experience with the poetic elements. Vijay Yesudas has been the mellisonant prince, where his honeyed vocalisms get the songs furthermore embellished. But when heard on whole, the song might take some more time to get its mileage.

Shut up Pannunga
Singers: Anirudh Ravichander and Arunraja Kamaraj
Lyrics: Arunraja Kamaraj

The song doesn’t need an introduction as it was almost like a acclaim for Oviya during the time of Bigg Boss. It created an instant sensation for coming together of Yuvan Shankar Raja and Anirudh Ravichander. What makes the song more attention grabbing is the sound than its music. When heard on the perfect sound system, it turns to be more celebratory, especially on party floors.

The Balloon’s Mystery (Title Track)

There are certain elements involved in composing a theme music based on eeriness. It will definitely have certain instrumentals like chimes, pianos, strings and unique percussions. Yuvan Shankar Raja has very well followed these traits and has made it more enthralling to hear. When listened to this song on a high level surround system, it gets a much emblazoning impact.

Revenge of the Joker

Much alike the previous track, this one too has the same traits of creating eeriness without compromising. The female vocalism that comes through the way with complete silence travelling into more spookiness...

Overall, Yuvan Shankar Raja has done a best work to this album with all the songs standing out in its own terms. Couple of signature tunes will definitely gain its more momentum with the visuals.

Verdict : Balloon gets a best dosage from Yuvan Shankar Raja
