Kamal Haasan, who has been admitted to the Apollo Hospitals in Greams Road in Chennai after he slipped and fell in the staircase of his Alwarpet residence, is ‘stable’, according to his brother Chandrahasan.
Kamal Haasan was taking the stair-case of his Alwarpet residence-cum-office around midnight when he suddenly slipped and fell, losing control. The fall has resulted in a minor fracture for which he underwent surgery at the Apollo Hospitals yesterday. He is likely to be discharged from the Hospital in 2-3 days’ time.
In the middle of the shoot of his upcoming Tamil-Telugu-Hindi trilingual Sabaash Naidu, Kamal was in Chennai to take a break from the hectic shoot in U.S. where he had been shooting non-stop for the film for the past few weeks. With this injury, Kamal Haasan may skip his London tour to receive the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award in the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) where his Nayakan would be screened.
Chandrahaasan said that though Kamal would be discharged by the weekend, it would take at least 4-6 weeks for him to return to normalcy and resume his active lifestyle again.
