Anushka Shetty, the actress who is in her mid-thirties but is still busy with her commitments to star in Tamil and Telugu films, appears to have put on hold her marriage plans at least for the time being.
Anushka, who turns 35 this November, was rumoured to be getting married last year but starred in some significant films such as Baahubali, Rudhramadevi and Size Zero. Her performance got noticed and was critically acclaimed in all these films though their box-office performances weren’t the same: Baahubali was a colossal hit, Rudhramaedvi was an average hit while Size Zero didn’t do well in theatres.
She now has S3 opposite Suriya (third film in the Singam sequel), Baahubali: The Conclusion, Bhagmati (with Aadhi and Jayaram) and Om Namo Venkateshaya on her hands which should keep her busy at least till the middle of next year. While her contemporaries in the 30-odd age club such as Nayantara and Trisha are surviving by taking up horror films, Anushka is firm in starring in period-type ventures.
Anushka’s get up in G. Ashok-directed Bhagmati is said to be very ‘special’ for which she would commit herself to a long schedule. Sources close to her say that after wrapping up the shoot of Baahubali sequel, Anushka would concentrate wholly on Bhagmati which she thinks would be one of the most significant films in her career. As such, marriage will have to wait for at least an year from now onwards!
