Amitabh to produce Ajith’s next film to be directed by Atlee?

It is rumoured that Bollywood’s evergreen superstar Amitabh Bachchan, referred to as ‘Big B’ by all, might step in to produce Ajith Kumar’s next film which might be directed by 2-film old Atlee Kumar.

Atlee has only directed two films viz., Raja Rani (2013) and Theri (which released some time back) but is likely to get the chance to direct Ajith in only his third venture as a director. Ajith’s immediate next film would, however, be the untitled Shiva-directed film which goes to floors from the first week of August.

Amitabh had earlier produced the Ajith Kumar-Vikram starrer Ullasam almost two decades back under his banner ‘ABCL’ but the film didn’t meet with a huge success at the box-office after which Amitabh faced continuous failures as a producer. He later recovered by hosting the reality show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ on television and starring in few select Bollywood ventures.

Ajith is said to have spoken to Amitabh recently over phone after which Amitabh agreed to produce his Atlee-directed film. Amitabh is said to have satisfied himself about Ajith’s market value. A formal announcement about the launch of the venture is expected to be made soon once things are finalized in the coming weeks.
